There are no endemic tropical diseases. Government has taken positive steps to control Mosquitoes and reducing the incidence of mosquitoes to negligible levels.
Cayman has very good health services on its islands, Governments health services department itself operates 2 (Two) hospitals: One George Town Hospital (52 bedded) in Grand Cayman and Faith Hospital (18 Bedded) in Cayman Brac. Cayman Islands Health Services Complex in George Town (130 Beds) is one of the significant Health care centre. Certain dental and eye care services are also provided by the government.
Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac provides modern surgical and other services.
Lilith McLaughlin Memorial Health Centre in East End, Dica Brown Memorial Health Centre in North Side and the West Bay Nurses Health Centre also provide good health services.
Miami's Baptist Hospital is providing tertiary level care to Cayman residents with an agreement with the government. Baptist Hospital and George Town Hospital are linked by a tele-radiology system.
Apart from the Government health services, you will find private medical practitioners providing good family health care services. These include the Professional Medical Centre, Cayman Medical Centre, Cayman Medical and Surgical Centre, Cayman Clinic, and the West Bay Road Medical Clinic, not to forget the 18 bedded private hospital in George Town.
Fee structure at the Government hospitals is affordable as compared with private health care services. Consultation fee ranges from $25 to $60 and one night room rent, if need arises for admission is $200 for a private room.
Cayman Islands get lots of visitors and along with the residents in the trio islands, health care becomes one of the major sector. Government does care for every ones health. As Tourist Industry brings immense revenues to the country, government’s concentration in providing primary health care has increased to date.
